Philosophy and values
- We believe that all young people have the right to experience a family life, preferably within their own family or with carers within their own community.
- We believe that all young people have a right to be protected from abuse, neglect and exploitation. We recognize that many young people we work with are particularly vulnerable.
- We believe very strongly in working in partnership with parents and carers.
- We believe very strongly in taking a holistic approach to the care of young people.
- We believe looked after young people should have their own views valued and respected particularly as regards key decisions in their future plans.
- We strive to ensure the young person’s views are heard and, where possible, will act as advocates for a young person, or offer advice on independent advocates outside of the home.

Knightwood Oaks Residential care is made up of a highly experienced team coming together to meet the
needs of children and young people.
Our Children and young people receive a personalized care package appropriate to their needs and age,
wishes and feelings.
Based in the New Forest we have a range of activities on our doorstep. We support our children and young people with education, activities, and behaviour understanding and management in a caring and nurturing environment.
We aim to support the children and young people in our care to build safe relationships and meet their true potential.

The Oaks is a three bedroom property and looks like any other house in the street. It is registered for 2 young people to live in.

At The Oaks we aim to provide the stability of keeping siblings together and supporting them to maintain
those valuable relationships in long term placements. This will be our primary objective when discussing
vacancies with local authorities.
The area

The Oaks is in a good location for local schools and access to public transport. It is a relatively quiet village with a parade of shops, containing a convenience store, pharmacy, take-away restaurants,
hairdresser and barbershop and close to a large recreation ground. There are also schools close by.

Every week the young people are involved in meal planning, We respect religious requirements in meal planning or dietary needs or preferences. Everyone will eat together as much as possible, its a good time to chat about the day.
